Kelly Osbourne has shared an emotional tribute following the death of celebrity makeup artist and Finding Prince Charming star Jasen Kaplan. The television personality posted a series of messages and images on Instagram remembering her close friend, describing his passing as devastating.
“I’m devastated. I love you so much,” Osbourne wrote over a collage of photos featuring the pair. “Thank you for all the love, laughter, and joy you brought to my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP, my dear friend!”
News of Kaplan’s death was first reported by Page Six, which stated that New York City police were investigating the death of a 46-year-old man at an apartment in Hell’s Kitchen believed to belong to Kaplan. Entertainment Weekly reported that it had contacted representatives for both Kaplan and the New York Police Department for further information.
Osbourne shared multiple Instagram stories reflecting on their long friendship and professional collaboration. In one post, she wrote that she would make sure Kaplan’s dog, Coco, was cared for. In another, she recalled their late-night FaceTime calls, writing that she would “forever miss” them. She also described Kaplan as “the best wingman a girl could ask for,” adding that their 25-year friendship meant everything to her.
Kaplan built a long career as a celebrity makeup artist, working with high-profile clients over more than two decades. He first gained wider recognition after appearing on the 2005 E! reality series The Gastineau Girls, where he worked with Brittny and Lisa Gastineau. His client list later included Bethenny Frankel, Tinsley Mortimer, Sonja Morgan, Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter and Cyndi Lauper.
Kaplan previously appeared on the Logo dating series Finding Prince Charming. His death follows that of fellow contestant Chad Spodick, who died in December at the age of 42.
