Woman inmate passes away

DIJKOT:

A woman detained in a murder case died during treatment in a hospital after falling ill in jail. According to sources, Nazia Bibi, a resident of Chak 229-RB, had been arrested in the case registered under Section 302 of the PPC at Khurrianwala police station and lodged in the district jail. She had fallen ill on December 1 and had been shifted from the prisoners' ward to the Faisalabad Civil Hospital.

She remained under treatment for a month and passed away late on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, two officials of Municipal Corporation Faisalabad were suspended on complaints of mismanagement on Thursday. Encroachment Inspector Tahir Manzoor Shah and Beldar Shahbaz were suspended and the municipal officer for regulation appointed as inquiry officer.
