Opp warns of law, governance crisis
Ibadullah and Governor Kundi assess overall situation

Opposition Leader in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Dr Ibadullah, on Thursday met Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, where they held detailed discussions on the overall situation of the province, with particular focus on the deteriorating law and order situation.
During the meeting, serious concern was expressed over the rising incidents of insecurity in the province and the apparent lack of interest shown by the provincial government in addressing the issue. Both leaders agreed that the worsening law and order situation is having a negative impact on the lives of citizens as well as on the province's development, and requires immediate and serious attention.
They also discussed the absence of good governance in the province and the key challenges faced by the public, including inflation, unemployment, health and education. The performance of the provincial government was termed unsatisfactory, with both leaders noting continued negligence in resolving public issues.
The meeting also took up the provincial government's irresponsible attitude regarding the province's constitutional and financial rights. Consultations were held on the effective role of opposition parties in the provincial assembly, the need for a joint strategy, and future plans to safeguard public rights.
Emphasis was laid on the need for serious political dialogue, transparent governance and the implementation of people-friendly policies to tackle the challenges facing the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Kundi said that the opposition has an important responsibility in highlighting public hardships through the assembly's standing committees. He added that opposition members must also play a robust role in legislation and in raising their voice in the assembly against policies perceived as anti-public.
