A petition calling for the deportation of Nicki Minaj has surpassed 70,000 signatures, gaining traction amid ongoing backlash over the rapper’s recent political statements and public controversies.
The petition, hosted on Change.org, calls for Minaj to be deported to Trinidad and comes after she voiced support for conservative politics, including the Republican Party, during Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest earlier this month. The campaign has circulated widely online, drawing attention for its language and demands.
The petition claims that Minaj is “spiraling out of control and seems to be experiencing psychosis.” It also references her long-running feud with Jay-Z and Beyoncé, arguing that she has no “justifiable reason to target them,” and cites the criminal history of her husband, Kenneth Petty.
“This is not just a personal grievance—it is a matter of public concern,” the petition states. “Nicki Minaj's influential status does not grant her the right to overstep legal and moral boundaries. Her actions have demonstrated that she poses a threat not only to the individuals she has targeted but potentially to the broader community.”
The petition concludes by urging authorities to take action. “Deporting Nicki Minaj back to her home country, Trinidad, seems the most viable solution to curtail her harmful actions,” it reads. “It would ensure the safety of American citizens and send a clear message that harassment and support of criminal activity will not be tolerated.”
Minaj’s political remarks at AmericaFest have contributed to the renewed scrutiny. During the event, she publicly supported Donald Trump and criticised California Governor Gavin Newsom. She said the president “has given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high,” and also described him as “handsome.”
She additionally praised Vice President JD Vance, saying, “This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them… Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”
As the petition continues to gain signatures, the debate surrounding Minaj’s political alignment and public conduct shows no sign of subsiding.
