In anticipation of the large crowds heading to popular recreational spots like Clifton, Bagh Ibn Qasim, and Sea View for New Year's Eve celebrations, Karachi's Traffic Police have announced special arrangements to manage traffic flow during the night of December 31 and January 1, 2026.

According to the statement issued by Karachi Traffic Police, Sea View Road will be converted into a one-way stretch from McDonald's to the Clock Tower. No vehicles will be allowed to travel in the opposite direction from the Clock Tower back towards McDonald's. Vehicles will need to divert either to Khayaban-e-Ittehad Road or the Do Darya route to return.

Heavy traffic, including water tankers, dumpers, trailers, and trucks, will be permitted to enter the city only after 2:00 AM. Vehicles with broken or absent silencers, as well as motorcyclists, and those driving recklessly will face legal action. Offenders will be handed over to the local police for further proceedings.

The public is advised to choose alternative routes to avoid delays and inconvenience while travelling to their destinations.

For any traffic-related assistance, the public can contact the Traffic Police helpline at 1915, or reach out via WhatsApp at 0305-9266907. The Traffic Police also offers real-time updates on the Sindh Police Radio Channel FM-88.6 and their official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/karachitrafficpolice.
