New Year traffic plan finalised

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has prepared a comprehensive traffic plan to maintain traffic flow on New Year's Eve. More than 600 traffic police personnel have been deployed.

Seven special squads have also been formed to prevent one-wheeling, racing and car skidding. According to details, on the orders of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam, Traffic Headquarters Chief Security Officer Inspector Muhammad Waseem has formulated a comprehensive and organised traffic plan for Rawalpindi and other tehsils to provide the best traffic facilities to the citizens and prevent one-wheeling on the occasion of New Year's Night.

More than 600 traffic police personnel will perform special duties on the occasion of New Year's Night, while seven special squads have been formed to prevent one-wheeling, racing, car skating and hooliganism. Special pickets have also been established which will be seen in full action on Mal Road, Peshawar Road, Bank Road, Jhelum Road, Old Airport Road, Murree Road and Sixth Road and other important highways on the occasion of New Year's Night and will take full legal action against the violators.

The Christian community celebrates their religious festival on New Year's Eve, for which special arrangements have been made and additional traffic police personnel have been deployed at churches and religious places.
