Tom Hiddleston, who portrays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is building excitement for the upcoming blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday, describing the film as “monumental” with a story that has “never been done before.”
Speaking in a recent interview to GQ, Hiddleston praised the film’s script as surprising and brilliant, hinting that the next Avengers installment will chart new territory for the franchise and offer fans something genuinely fresh.
Hiddleston’s last appearance as Loki was in the second season of his Disney+ series, which concluded in 2023. In that show, Loki underwent a significant transformation, ultimately becoming the God of Stories, a role in which he helped stabilize the timelines of the multiverse.
“In order to become someone different, whose story had a different ending, he had to make peace with the things he did,” Hiddleston told GQ about his character, Loki. “It gave him the power of authorship over his own story.”
Although Hiddleston remains tight‑lipped on specific plot details, he confirmed that he has already completed filming his scenes for the highly anticipated movie, reinforcing that fans will be treated to something truly special.
His comments reflect a broader push by Marvel to elevate its storytelling in Phase 6 of the MCU, integrating characters across multiple franchises and timelines in ways that expand beyond previous ensemble films.
Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be a massive cinematic event. It brings together a vast ensemble cast and interweaves characters from across the MCU, including returning favorites and new faces from recent films.
The story’s multiversal implications are expected to reshape Marvel’s future, setting the stage for even bigger developments in the story arc that follows.
Set for release on December 18, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday is poised to be one of the biggest superhero films of the year, continuing the MCU’s trend of combining high stakes with deep emotional character arcs.
With Hiddleston’s enthusiasm and the film’s ambitious scope, anticipation among fans remains exceptionally high as Marvel builds toward its next chapter.
