Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers has married model Marianne Fonseca in an intimate wedding ceremony in Costa Rica, marking the end of 2025 with a private celebration shared later on social media.

The 35-year-old musician confirmed the marriage in a video posted on December 29, showing the couple dancing barefoot on a beach at sunset, flanked by two horses, before Fonseca jumps into his arms. Taggart captioned the post, “WE ARE MARRIED!”

The ceremony took place just over a year after Taggart proposed to Fonseca with a five-carat diamond ring. The proposal occurred at a restaurant in Los Angeles, where Fonseca believed she was meeting friends for a girls’ night, including Ivanka Trump. Instead, she was surprised by Taggart’s presence.

“The first thing I asked when I opened the door of the restaurant and saw him instead of the girls was, ‘What are you doing here?’” Fonseca told PEOPLE at the time. “We were both laughing the whole time, and he said, ‘Do you know what this is?’ And I said, ‘Maybe,’ haha. It was so cute!”

Fonseca later explained that the proposal reflected the tone they hoped to carry into their wedding. “Nobody was there at the time of the proposal because Drew knew I wanted the moment to be just between us,” she said. “Afterward, everyone arrived, and I already had the ring on. Some people already knew, and others didn’t—it was so special seeing how happy everyone was for us!”

Following their engagement, Fonseca shared that she envisioned a small and personal wedding. “We’re planning to keep it really small,” she said. “I want it to feel very intimate, with just the people we truly love. I don’t want it to feel like ‘work’ to get married. I want to enjoy it and feel vulnerable with our closest loved ones.”
