Groom, brother dead in revenge attack on wedding
Victim's mother injured in firing by Jatoi tribe on Mahars

The savage Jatoi-Mahar vendetta devoured three more lives on Sunday besides injuring a woman when a wedding party of Mahars came under alleged armed assault of Jatois in Shikarpur district.
The groom and a child were among those killed while groom's mother was also injured in the attack, carried out on the bypass road.
DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab Pathan directed SSP Shikarpur Shahzeb Chachar to immediately take action against the outlaws who sprayed bullets on the wedding party.
The slain persons have been identified as the to be groom Altaf Mahar, his younger brother seven years old Muhammad Hassan Mahar and the car driver Muhammad Ramzan Mahar. The groom's mother was shifted to a hospital in Sukkur district in critical condition.
Jatoi's released a video on social media, showing their men firing gunshots in celebration. The clash has so far consumed around four dozen lives. The dead bodies were shifted to Rustam area after postmortem. Scenes of sobbing among men, women and children dressed in wedding clothes were seen outside taluka hospital. The incident's FIR could not be registered by the evening.
In February, 2024, the tribal dispute between Mahars and Jatois of Pannu Aqil, district Sukkur, claimed seven lives and left seven others injured as an armed group of Mahar tribe allegedly attacked the village of Jatois.
