MIRPURKHAS:

Police have launched a crackdown in GR Colony against the houses of suspects nominated in the murder case of Advocate Chaudhry Shehzad, demolishing what authorities say were illegal structures.

According to details, following the killing of Chaudhry Shehzad Advocate, Mirpurkhas police initiated strict action against the nominated suspects, reportedly belonging to the Lashari community. In the presence of senior officers and heavy machinery, police removed alleged encroachments and demolished several houses. Officials said the operation is part of the ongoing legal process in the murder case.

DSP Aslam Jagirani and DSP Taluka Shujaabad Ghafoor Khasheli stated that the action was carried out in accordance with court orders and without discrimination. Tight security arrangements were made in the area to prevent any untoward incident.

However, petitioners and affected residents claimed the demolished houses were built on their privately owned land and that they had been residing there for years.
