Actress Kate Hudson has clarified a long-standing rumor about her involvement in the 1992 holiday favorite Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. While fans have often speculated that Hudson appeared in the film as a child, the actress has now confirmed that her role was not visual, but musical.

Hudson explained that although she was the right age to be part of the movie at the time, she never appeared on camera. “I’m not in it,” she said, adding, “I’m on the soundtrack.” Her contribution came in the form of singing, not acting.

The Almost Famous star shared that she was one of several children who recorded vocals for the film. “I’m just one of the little kids that went to the recording studio and sang,” Hudson explained, noting that her role was part of the choir heard during the movie.

Despite the small and behind-the-scenes contribution, Hudson still receives residual checks from the film. She joked that they amount to just a few cents, but the connection to such an iconic holiday movie continues to amuse her.

Hudson’s comments put to rest years of fan speculation and offer a fun piece of trivia about the enduring Christmas classic, proving that even the smallest roles can leave a lasting legacy in pop culture.
