Celine Dion has marked Christmas Eve with a playful social media post, sharing a video of herself dressed as the Grinch while parodying a well-known monologue from the festive film.
The singer uploaded the clip to Instagram on Wednesday, appearing seated by a fireplace in a full Grinch costume complete with bright green makeup. She opened the video by talk-singing the chorus of “All by Myself” before launching into a parody of the Grinch’s scheduling monologue from the 2000 Jim Carrey film “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
She continued by listing a series of mock appointments: “4:00 — exercise my voice. 4:30 — wake my children up. 5:00 — solve world hunger. Tell no one. 5:30 — jazzercize. 6:30 — dinner with me. I can’t cancel that again! 7:00 — wrestle with my creative ideas.”
Dion went on to add her own twist to the monologue. “I’m booked!” she said. “Of course, if I bumped my creative ideas to 9:00, I’ll still have time to lay in bed and scroll TikTok videos endlessly. Or I can just simply wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year… boring!”
She ended the video by returning to “All by Myself”, singing the opening line: “When I was young, I never needed anyone.”
The festive post offered fans a light-hearted moment from the singer during the holiday season.
