James Ransone’s wife shares emotional Instagram tribute after actor’s death at 46

James Ransone’s wife, Jamie McPhee, has shared a deeply emotional tribute on Instagram following the actor’s death at age 46, expressing love and gratitude for the life they built together and their two children. Ransone, best known for his roles in The Wire and It: Chapter Two, died on December 19, 2025. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office ruled his death a suicide.
In her tribute post, McPhee included a poignant photo of the couple together and wrote, “I told you I have loved you 1000 times before and I know I will love you again.” She continued with a reflection on their partnership: “You told me, I need to be more like you and you need to be more like me, and you were so right.”
McPhee also thanked Ransone for their family, their son Jack, 6, and daughter Violet, 4, adding, “Thank you for giving me the greatest gifts, you, Jack and Violet. We are forever.” Her message concluded with the phrase that has resonated with many: “We are forever.”
Ransone’s diverse career spanned television and film, with memorable performances in acclaimed projects such as HBO’s The Wire, horror hits like Sinister and The Black Phone, and multiple guest roles on series including Poker Face. He was widely respected in the industry for his talent and presence on screen.
