Taylor Swift hints at future music after The Life of a Showgirl in 'The End of an Era' docuseries
Taylor Swift has suggested that further music releases are still ahead, despite recent speculation surrounding the future of her recording career.
In the final moments of her six-part docuseries The End of an Era, Swift teases that her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, is not intended to be her final project.
The series concludes by highlighting key milestones reached since the Eras Tour ended on December 8, 2024, including Swift regaining ownership of her first six albums and becoming engaged to Travis Kelce.
The closing text also notes that Swift released The Life of a Showgirl on October 3 and that it became “the biggest album of her career.” Shortly afterwards, the words “to date” appear beneath the statement, a detail that fans have interpreted as a signal that additional albums are planned.
Swift previously addressed suggestions that Showgirl could be her last album during an interview on BBC Radio 2 shortly after its release. She described assumptions that she would stop making music to focus on her personal life as “shockingly offensive.”
“It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job,” Swift said. Speaking about her relationship with Kelce, she added: “Oh, I know they love to panic sometimes, but it’s like I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”
She continued: “That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like he is so passionate about what he does, that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us. There’s no point in time where he’s gonna be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making the music.’”
The End of an Era offers behind-the-scenes access to the final stages of Swift’s Eras Tour across Europe and North America. The tour became the highest-grossing of all time, generating $2.2 billion across 149 shows in 21 countries.
The final episode focuses on Swift’s last three performances in Vancouver as she marks the close of another chapter with her family and touring team.
