Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has urged all parties to engage in dialogue, highlighting that the province cannot afford further confrontation.
"Those who refused to talk yesterday have now come to the negotiating table. Our province is under the shadow of terrorism, and its problems cannot be solved through abusive exchanges," he said during a media interaction at CECOS University's convocation.
Referring to past threats, the governor remarked, "Many times before, there were warnings with ominous messages, 'if the founder is not removed, there will be funerals.' Where are those funerals and threats now?" He praised the federal government for its magnanimity in offering talks, expressing optimism about positive outcomes.
Commenting on security matters, Governor Kundi stated that intelligence-based operations are needed wherever terrorists are present. "Karbala is not outside Adiala; it is happening in Kurram. The law and order situation in Kurram is concerning," he added, urging local leadership to focus on the region. He also claimed that many terrorist activities involve Afghan citizens, citing the recent attack on the FC headquarters, and warned that any attempts to weaken Pakistan would be met with a strong response.
Earlier, addressing the convocation as the chief guest, Governor Kundi highlighted the economic challenges facing Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
