Public records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office show that Wilson died on November 21, with the cause of death ruled a suicide. His passing was publicly announced by his family on December 13.

Wilson was widely known for his technology reviews and online content, earning a large following across multiple platforms. He had more than one million followers on TikTok and was often referred to by fans as the “unboxing guy” for his product review videos covering tech, gaming, and entertainment.

Before becoming a full-time digital creator, Wilson worked as a tech educator in Chicago and Milwaukee public schools, where he taught students and staff information technology skills. He later moved to Los Angeles to expand his career in digital media and content creation.

Wilson launched his YouTube channel in 2008 and shifted toward short-form content in 2021. Over the years, he collaborated with major brands including Xbox, Apple, and Nintendo. He also appeared in George Takei’s web series Takei’s Take in 2013 and participated in a cross-generational content panel at VidCon 2025. In January 2026, Wilson was scheduled to serve as a judge for the CES Innovation Awards.
