Filming has officially wrapped on the upcoming Marvel and Sony Pictures tentpole Spider-Man: Brand New Day, director Destin Daniel Cretton announced, marking a major milestone as the MCU’s next chapter starring Tom Holland moves into post-production ahead of its July 31, 2026 theatrical release.
Cretton shared the update via social media, reflecting on the scale of the project and the collaborative effort behind it. The filmmaker, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, described the experience as the most fulfilling of his career.
“I’m so deeply grateful for the people who walked with me through the biggest, most rewarding film I’ve ever been a part of,” Cretton wrote, thanking the cast and crew who helped bring the film to life.
The director offered particular praise for Holland, who once again steps into the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, highlighting the actor’s dedication and leadership throughout the production.
“Thank you to Tom Holland, for your kind, generous leadership on and off screen, for your relentless work ethic, your fearless performances and for your friendship,” Cretton continued. “I love you all so much and can’t wait for the world to see your stunning work on the big screen … That’s a wrap on ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day!’”
Plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day are being kept under wraps, but the film is expected to continue Peter Parker’s story following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The cast includes returning stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, alongside new additions such as Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, and Tramell Tillman.
With filming complete, the project now enters post-production as anticipation builds for the next Spider-Man installment, with fans eagerly awaiting a first trailer and official promotional materials in the months ahead.
