A leaked trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has begun circulating on social media, offering early insight into the 2026 Marvel release and suggesting that Sadie Sink’s previously undisclosed role may be more antagonistic than expected.
The footage, reportedly recorded from a private screener, is of poor visual quality but contains largely audible dialogue. Despite the prevalence of artificial intelligence-generated media, the clip is widely believed to be authentic, with Sony already issuing copyright claims against uploads. The trailer appears unfinished and was not intended for public viewing.
One of the most discussed elements is dialogue attributed to Sink’s character, who addresses Spider-Man directly, saying, "You're a mess, Spider-Man. Don't get in my way. Otherwise, it won't just be your friends who don't remember who Peter Parker is." The line positions her as either a villain or a rival figure, contrasting with earlier speculation that she might play a traditional ally or love interest.
The trailer audio also features Peter Parker recounting the cost of his past choices. "Hi. My name is Peter Parker. You don't remember me, but we knew each other. Something bad was going to happen, and the only way to stop it... was to make everyone forget about me. I'm not just Peter Parker. I'm... Spider-Man. And sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard part, even if it breaks Peter Parker's heart."
Additional voices heard include Bruce Banner, who asks, “You’re not one of my students, are you?”, and The Punisher, who says, "Saving your ass, can't you see?!". A character believed to be Tombstone references spiders and rebirth, further hinting at the film’s themes.
Prior reports had already suggested appearances by The Punisher, Tombstone and Banner, but Sink’s apparent role has prompted renewed debate. Previous theories linked her to characters such as Gwen Stacy, Black Cat or Jean Grey, though these now seem less likely given the tone of the dialogue.
While insiders claim the leak is genuine, it remains unclear whether Sony will respond with an official release or continue to address unauthorised footage as it emerges.
