Miyawaki forest planned in Multan
.

The Multan horticulture authorities have decided to establish a Miyawaki forest in front of the Nawabpur Road Water Disposal Station as part of its efforts to expand green spaces and improve the city's environment.
This was stated by Managing Director Horticulture Agency Managing Director Karim Bakhash during an inspection of the plantation site on Tuesday. He said the administration had first succeeded in getting the land vacated from encroachment and land-grabbers, after which soil filling and site preparation had been completed to make the area suitable for plantation. The managing director said that plantation work was being carried out both inside and outside WASA disposal plant premises across the city.
He added that more than 400 trees had been planted at various WASA disposal stations across the city, while over 600 additional trees will be planted at the Nawabpur Roadl station. He maintained that several environment-friendly and shade-giving tree species, including pelkan, kachnar, bamboo and jamun, will also be planted. He noted that large-scale plantation of such trees would bring positive environmental change, improve air quality and contribute to a healthier urban atmosphere.
