LAHORE:

The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) has launched a two-year development master plan aimed at transforming the institution into a state-of-the-art hub for literature, culture, and the arts.

The project, formulated under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), seeks to modernize Alhamra's infrastructure while aligning its cultural and artistic offerings with international standards.

A high-level coordination meeting was held to streamline the execution of the plan, where the XEN C&W provided a technical briefing to ensure effective collaboration among the contractor, C&W officials, and project consultants.

Renowned design consultant Nayyar Ali Dada detailed the architectural framework to Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, while internationally acclaimed artist Imran Qureshi was engaged to ensure the highest aesthetic standards.

Executive Director Gondal outlined a three-phase operational strategy: Phase I will revitalize the Alhamra Art Gallery, Puppet Hall, and Art Museum; Phase II will upgrade Alhamra Hall 1, Hall 3, and both Cultural Complex auditoriums; and Phase III will focus on Alhamra Hall 2 and auxiliary areas.
