Faye Tozer, best known as a member of the pop group Steps, will be taking centre stage in the touring production of Mean Girls: The Musical, where she’ll portray not one but three roles.

The musical, based on the iconic 2004 comedy film, is embarking on its first UK and Ireland tour, opening at the Manchester Opera House in February 2026 and running through early 2027.

Tozer, 50, will play the mothers of both main characters – Cady Heron and Regina George – as well as the unforgettable calculus teacher Ms Norbury, giving her a rare opportunity to display her range across multiple personalities in a single production.

The Mean Girls musical features a book by 30 Rock creator Tina Fey, music and lyrics by Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin, and choreography and direction by Casey Nicholaw. Fans of the show will recognise its sharp humour and catchy songs, brought to life in the West End earlier this year before launching the tour that will take in major cities including Cardiff, Belfast, Glasgow and Blackpool.

Tozer’s casting has excited both theatre lovers and Steps fans alike, as she brings her stage experience and vocal talent to the production. Before this, she appeared in the West End revue Diamonds And Dust and has enjoyed a long career in entertainment, first rising to fame with Steps’ string of pop hits.

The UK and Ireland tour of Mean Girls: The Musical promises to be one of the standout theatre events of the year, with Tozer’s triple role adding a unique twist to a show already beloved by audiences for its energy, wit and memorable characters.
