Vin Diesel hints Cristiano Ronaldo may join the final Fast & Furious film, saying “we wrote a role for him”

Vin Diesel has suggested that footballer Cristiano Ronaldo could appear in the final Fast & Furious film, tentatively titled Fast X: Part Two, following a social media post that drew widespread attention from fans of the franchise.
Fast X was released in 2023 and marked the most recent entry in the long-running series. Development on the eleventh and final film has continued without a confirmed production start date.
The previous instalment was among the most expensive films ever produced, with an estimated budget of $378.8 million, and did not generate a profit. Universal Pictures has reportedly been seeking to reduce costs on the concluding chapter.
In a new social media post, Diesel shared a photograph of himself alongside Ronaldo and addressed speculation about the footballer’s involvement.
“Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you, he is a real one. We wrote a role for him...” Diesel wrote. The image received close to two million likes within 24 hours and prompted supportive comments from followers.
Ronaldo has not previously appeared in a film role. The Portuguese footballer is among the most recognisable athletes in the world and is the most followed individual on Instagram, with 668 million followers.
His popularity has led to speculation among fans about whether his involvement would align with Universal’s reported budget considerations for the franchise’s finale.
Diesel has previously teased developments within the Fast & Furious universe that have not yet materialised. Production timelines for the final film have been suggested several times but remain unconfirmed.
Multiple spin-off projects have also been referenced, with Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, released in 2019, remaining the only completed spin-off to date.
A follow-up project involving Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa’s Fast X character Dante Reyes was announced in 2023 and was expected to be released in 2027 or 2028, though no recent updates have been provided.
Diesel has also recently commented on his past professional conflict with Johnson, publicly praising his performance as Luke Hobbs and writing: “When he stepped into Hobbs, he did it with full commitment and left an indelible mark on Universal’s character hall of fame.”
