The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Saturday organised Google Cloud DevFest 2025, aimed at promoting IT development and tech-driven entrepreneurship across the country.
Addressing the event, the Senior Vice President of ICCI said that technology, innovation and digital transformation are rapidly emerging as key drivers of Pakistan's economic future. He termed the hosting of DevFest at ICCI a proud moment for the Chamber, reflecting its growing role in advancing the digital and knowledge economy.
He noted that cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics and automation are reshaping global economies, and said Pakistan must proactively invest in digital capabilities to remain competitive internationally. Technology, he stressed, is not confined to the IT sector alone but acts as an enabler across agriculture, manufacturing, retail, logistics and finance, helping businesses enhance efficiency, scalability and sustainability.
During the day-long event, experts delivered lectures on a range of contemporary topics, including effective communication in the digital era, the use of AI to accelerate innovation, breaking down organisational silos through unified AI platforms and the development of secure, agent-oriented and specification-driven AI systems.
Participants, particularly young developers and students, described DevFest as highly informative and thought-provoking, expressing confidence that such initiatives would empower them to move forward with AI-driven technologies and contribute to national development.
