Rugby: South Africa demolish Namibia

South Africa trumped their own World Cup points’ record with an 87-0 blitz of doughty Namibia.

AUCKLAND:
Defending champions South Africa trumped their own World Cup points’ record with an 87-0 blitz of doughty Namibia to all but book a place in the quarter-finals. The win also saw winger Bryan Habana becoming South Africa’s all-time leading try-scorer powering through to one of the Springboks’ 12 tries in their rout of Namibia. Habana crossed in the 22nd minute of the Pool D match for his 39th try in 72 matches. “Records are great to get but without my coaching staff and teammates it would never have been possible,” he said.
