Nintendo and Illumination have given fans an early look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the follow-up to the 2023 hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.

The teaser debuted at The Game Awards 2025, offering a glimpse into the animated adventure months before its theatrical premiere.

In the sneak peek, Bowser Jr. traps Mario and Luigi inside Princess Peach’s castle, wielding a paintbrush-turned-spiked weapon while demanding his father back, who has been shrunk and confined in a tiny castle. Luigi tries to reason with him, but a brief clash ensues, showcasing action-packed sequences reminiscent of classic Nintendo moments.

The film brings back several returning cast members, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek. New additions include Brie Larson as Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr. Rumors suggest the movie may also introduce lesser-known Nintendo characters.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to hit theaters on April 3, 2026, promising a vibrant expansion of the beloved Mario universe.
