RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi's first pedestrian street on Bank Road has, for the first time, turned into a one-kilometre-long corridor for a chrysanthemum exhibition.

Alongside shopping, visitors are enjoying floral displays, decorative arrangements, handicrafts from all four provinces, and folk music.

Organised by the Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Boards, the five-day chrysanthemum exhibition has drawn strong public interest. The show was inaugurated by Major General Aqif Iqbal, Director General Rawalpindi Garrison and Security Affairs.

Bank Road has been beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums and other flower stalls.

Models depicting Pakistan's natural landscapes were also displayed. Stalls from all four provinces, as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, were set up along with regional music performances.

Those attending included Station Commander Brigadier Ali Anjum Syed; cantonment executive officers Aamir Rasheed and Arifeen Zubair Chaudhry; Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza; Rawalpindi Chamber President Usman Shaukat; and business leaders including Munir Baig, Sheikh Inayat, Sheikh Imtiaz Ahmed, Sheikh Hafeez, Zafar Qadri, and Mushtaq Khan.
