DC Studios released the first official trailer for Supergirl on Dec. 11, 2025, introducing Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, while teasing Jason Momoa’s debut as the anti-hero Lobo.

The trailer premiered online following a private Manhattan preview hosted by DC co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, director Craig Gillespie, and Alcock.

Fans also get a first look at Jason Momoa as Lobo, the cigar-smoking, motorcycle-riding mercenary, who is expected to play a key role. Krypto, the super-powered dog, also returns following Supergirl’s cameo in Gunn’s Superman film.

Gunn revealed he envisioned Alcock for Supergirl before officially joining DC Studios, noting her previous work in House of the Dragon as a reason for casting. Alcock described seeing the completed trailer as “surreal” and praised the collaborative effort behind the film.

Supergirl is directed by Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira, based on Tom King’s comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The film also stars Matthias Schoenaerts as villain Krem, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, and David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Supergirl’s parents. Warner Bros. plans to release Supergirl in theaters on June 26, 2026, continuing DC’s expansion of its cinematic universe.
