For roughly 15 seconds, the woman continues to fend off the robber alone. Eventually, a passerby on a motorcycle intervenes by striking the attacker with his helmet, followed by several others who help subdue him. Only after the threat is neutralized does the male companion reappear to offer comfort, having not participated in confronting the attacker.
