Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans has addressed the backlash he received after sharing his thoughts on the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Wayans took to social media to make his position clear: “I’m not here defending Diddy. I got dragged into this because somebody asked me a question, and I had an opinion. Nobody’s wrong for giving an opinion about any subject. Don’t let the narrative fool you.”
“You can create any narrative as a producer, as a director, and as a storyteller. It doesn’t mean it’s true,” he said. “50 and Puff have a long-term beef. It’s personal. And before it’s between them, it’s between both of them and God. You’ve got to be careful what you put out — there’s karma to every action.”
In a separate interview with Big Boy, Wayans emphasized the importance of respecting the legal process. He noted that Combs is serving a sentence following his October 2025 conviction for transporting people across state lines for prostitution, and argued against further public condemnation.
“The court said this. He’s got to serve his time. You wanna bury him further? [50 Cent and Diddy] have their personal beef… I prefer they just handle it themselves rather than fuel the drama,” Wayans said.
After facing criticism and sparking a brief exchange with 50 Cent, Wayans stood by his statements. “Somebody’s always creating narratives. Look at the whole clip, and then form your own opinion. Use your brain, use your freedom of thought, your freedom of speech, and don’t let anybody bully you,” he added.
