Ariana Grande has addressed the growing online speculation surrounding her reaction in a recent Actors on Actors interview, clarifying that she did not recognise the internet’s 6-7 meme that viewers believed she was referencing.

The moment occurred during Variety’s latest series, where the Wicked star was paired with Adam Sandler for a conversation about their work.

The exchange that sparked the meme began when Sandler mentioned he was completing “6 or 7” emotional scenes consecutively.

Grande visibly reacted, which led social media users to assume she was thinking of the widely circulated 6-7 gesture associated with an online joke. Many viewers began sharing the clip with humorous captions suggesting she was internally referencing the meme.

A fan reposted the moment with the caption: “Ariana Grande’s reaction to Adam Sandler casually saying ‘six or seven’ during their Variety Actors on Actors conversation is already becoming the internet’s new favourite meme.”

Grande soon stepped into the comments to clarify her response and distance herself from the interpretation circulating online.

“I don’t know what this means! I was reacting to him saying the amount of emotional scenes back to back! I’m scared what is 67,” she wrote, making it clear she was focused solely on Sandler’s comment about his workload. She later added, “actually I don’t want to know please I love you all enjoy ♡,” signalling that she preferred to remain unaware of the meme’s meaning.

Her comments attracted further lighthearted discussion, as fans expressed amusement at the misunderstanding and appreciation for her candid clarification.
