LAHORE:

A delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Container Market Daroghawala called on Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Faheemur Rehman Saigol, where they assured him of their full cooperation and expressed solidarity.

The delegation apprised the LCCI president of the issues being faced by traders of the container market, particularly the complaints related to the Customs department and business difficulties. The traders stated that delays in Customs clearance, additional procedural complexities and inadequate communication cause losses to the business community.

LCCI President Saigol, after listening to their concerns, stressed that the chamber was fully committed to protecting the rights of traders. He said that meetings with relevant Customs officials had already paved the way for the resolution of their challenges and the process would continue in future as well.

He added that the business community was the backbone of the national economy and addressing their concerns was a collective responsibility.

Saarc Chamber Vice President MIan Anjum Nisar remarked that Lahore Chamber had always stood with the business community and establishing better working relations with regulatory bodies was among the chamber's top priorities. He pledged that the issues facing container market traders would be actively pursued and voices would be raised for their support at every appropriate forum.
