LAHORE:

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) has launched SME Certification and International Accreditation Grant Programme for providing comprehensive support to SMEs to cover costs associated with certification and accreditation.

According to Smeda sources, as per SME development vision of the prime minister, the small and micro enterprises operating in the informal sector need to come into the formal sector to avail of the incentives and facilities offered by the government for reaching out to international markets. Therefore, Smeda has introduced the grant programme.

A press statement says Smeda management has ensured that the programme is implemented in a transparent manner, with applications processed strictly on a first-come, first-served basis to empower SMEs with internationally recognised certifications to enhance global competitiveness and boost exports.
