The grandfather of three-year-old Ibrahim has rejected the statements circulating on media using his name. Speaking to journalists, Mahmood-ul-Hasan said that some channels were incorrectly reporting that he had acknowledged KMC's role in recovering the child. "I never said any such thing," he clarified.
He added that some people were alleging he had "taken money" in exchange for silence. "I am an old man; no one can pressure me. How could I ever bargain over my grandson's life?" he said firmly.
According to the family, they spent the entire night at the scene after the incident, desperately searching for the child. The next morning, they were informed that Ibrahim's body had been found and told that a garbage scavenger had pulled him out. Mahmood-ul-Hasan said he wanted to meet the boy, but later learned the police had taken him away.
Mahmood-ul-Hasan said the accusations against him were baseless. "People say the grandfather took money. Let me make it clear — I do not need money. Even if my life ends, I do not care-what matters is that the truth must come out."
He added that if authorities fail to act, citizens must begin taking responsibility themselves. "If there's no manhole cover, put one on. Do not rely on the government for everything."
