Four killed, two injured in Lachi Bazaar shooting
Four people have died in a shooting incident on Thursday in Lachi Bazaar, Tehsil Lachi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. According to the initial report, the incident occurred between two groups as a result of a personal dispute.
Upon receiving the alert, the Rescue 1122 medical team responded promptly, reached the scene, provided first aid to all the injured, and shifted them to Lachi Hospital.
Hospital sources confirmed that four people had died, while two critically injured individuals were referred to Kohat’s KDA Hospital due to their serious condition.
Hassan, son of Jahangir, Zahir Zaman, son of Ashoor Zaman, and Mamoor, son of Najeeb Gul, have passed away. Ijaz, son of Mamoor Khan, and Hammad, son of Ajmeer, are severely injured.
Kohat District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Ilahi visited the scene of a brutal quadruple murder in Lachi, accompanied by Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and other senior investigative officers.
At the site, the DPO examined the crime scene and reviewed forensic evidence critical to the investigation. He instructed that all evidence be secured according to modern standards and that the inquiry be conducted thoroughly from all angles.
Addressing the investigative team, DPO Shahbaz Ilahi ordered the swift arrest of all suspects and emphasised that no negligence or oversight would be tolerated. He stressed that public safety remains the police’s top priority and vowed strict legal action against those responsible, assuring justice for the affected families.
Multiple teams have been deployed to carry out raids for suspect apprehension, with investigators leveraging modern technology and intelligence resources to advance the inquiry.
