Miley Cyrus reveals how Maxx Morando shocked her with intimate proposal

Miley Cyrus is opening up about the intimate and emotional moment Maxx Morando proposed during their recent trip to Asia.

During an interview on “Good Morning America”, the 33-year-old singer revealed that Morando surprised her by getting down on one knee — something she admits is incredibly hard to do.

“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered,” Cyrus shared, adding that she was “so, so surprised” when the drummer popped the question. She proudly flashed her new 14-karat gold engagement ring, designed by Jacquie Aiche, and smiled as she said Morando “did good.”

The interview comes just one day after news broke that the couple became engaged following four years of dating. Engagement rumors first began swirling when Cyrus and Morando walked the red carpet together at the world premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in Los Angeles earlier this week. The cushion-cut ring was also spotted in mid-November, according to Deuxmoi.

Cyrus and Morando first met on a blind date in 2021 before quietly confirming their romance later that year. They were photographed sharing a kiss in Los Angeles, and by February 2024, sources confirmed the couple were living together. “Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy,” an insider previously told People, adding that Cyrus is “very happy” with the private musician.
