Jada Pinkett Smith hit with $3 million lawsuit alleging threats toward Will Smith’s long-time friend
Bilaal Salaam claims he was threatened by Jada at Will Smith’s 53rd birthday celebration in 2021

Jada Pinkett Smith is facing a $3 million lawsuit filed by Bilaal Salaam, who claims he was threatened by her at Will Smith’s 53rd birthday celebration in 2021.
According to the filing, Salaam says he had been close to Will for decades, but their association deteriorated after an alleged confrontation involving Jada and several members of her entourage at the Calabasas cinema where the event was held.
In the lawsuit, Salaam alleges that Jada "became verbally aggressive" and that she told him that if he did not stop "telling her personal business," he would "end up missing or catch a bullet." He further claims she "demanded" he sign a nondisclosure agreement during the encounter. The circumstances leading to the dispute have not been clarified, but Salaam asserts that the tension did not end at the party.
He says he was contacted months later by a mutual acquaintance who wanted assistance with "crisis management" after Will Smith’s widely discussed Oscars incident. According to the complaint, he declined. "Plaintiff refused to perform tasks he believed were illegal, unethical, or morally compromising," the filing states, adding that his conscience prevented him from participating in any "cover-up or deceptive PR campaign."
Salaam alleges that his refusal sparked a "retaliatory campaign" carried out by individuals associated with the Smiths. Jada Pinkett Smith has not issued a public response regarding the lawsuit at this time.
This legal action follows earlier claims Salaam made during an appearance on Unwine With Tasha K, where he alleged he had witnessed a compromising situation involving Will and Duane Martin. Jada denied the allegation shortly afterward on The Breakfast Club, calling it "ridiculous."
