KATSEYE’s Lara clarifies 'Stranger Things' Noah Schnapp remark after online backlash
KATSEYE member Lara is facing ongoing scrutiny after comments made during her November 29 Weverse livestream led to criticism across fan communities.
The singer had been discussing Stranger Things Season 5 and remarked that Will Byers “looks so hot in that last scene,” a comment that quickly escalated once viewers linked it to the wider debate surrounding actor Noah Schnapp.
Schnapp, who plays Will, has been criticised globally for his pro-Zionism views regarding the Gaza crisis. As reported by Variety, he addressed the backlash in 2024 and said his views had been “misconstrued.”
Lara’s brief remark about the character prompted intense discussion online, with some fans arguing that she should have been aware of the controversy given its prominence. Others defended the idol and pointed out that she follows several Palestinian Instagram accounts.
The clip spread rapidly across X and Reddit, prompting thousands of responses.
In response to the growing backlash, Lara issued a clarification to fans. She stated, “Oh hell nah guys I'm just a fan of the show! I was not aware about any of the actors backgrounds or stances. I was not sharing support for anything but the show do not get it twisted! Thank you.”
