Euro Truck Simulator 2 sets new Steam record after Nordic Horizons surge
Euro Truck Simulator 2 has achieved its highest-ever Steam concurrent player count more than a decade after launch. According to reporting from PC Gamer, the long-running simulation title hit 72,678 concurrent players on Sunday, November 30, 2025 — its strongest showing since its original 2012 release.
The surge follows the arrival of the Nordic Horizons DLC as part of the game’s v1.56 update, which introduced a large Northern Europe expansion alongside significant gameplay and UI enhancements. Coverage from Gamepressure noted that the update delivered “more Europe and more trucks,” resulting in a major spike in player activity.
Meanwhile, Traxion reported that Euro Truck Simulator 2 and its new DLC simultaneously ranked as the top two bestselling items on Steam over the weekend, outperforming even massively popular titles.
SCS Software’s renewed success arrives ahead of the game’s planned PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S releases expected in 2026. Traxion added that the developer also plans to launch a Coaches DLC, introducing an entirely new bus transport mechanic.
More than 13 years after debuting, Euro Truck Simulator 2 continues to demonstrate exceptional longevity — powered by consistent updates, a dedicated community, and expanding platform support.
