Kim Kardashian learns low brain activity linked to chronic stress during new brain scan

Kim Kardashian learned that recent brain imaging revealed “low brain activity,” a result attributed to long-term stress, according to footage from the Nov. 27 episode of The Kardashians. The findings were shared by celebrity physician Dr. Daniel Amen, whom Kardashian visited with Scott Disick for updated scans.
Kardashian, 45, explained that the appointment was intended to evaluate her overall brain health. Dr. Amen, who previously appeared on the show in 2022 to scan Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, is known for using brain imaging techniques in his medical practice.
During the consultation, Dr. Amen told Kardashian that the scan did not indicate a heightened risk for Alzheimer’s disease and described her as generally positive, noting no signs of severe stress, anxiety, or depression. However, he pointed out several spots on the imaging that represented reduced activity, especially in the frontal lobes.
According to Amen, this pattern can make stress management more difficult — a concern for Kardashian as she prepares for the California bar exam. Kardashian reacted skeptically, saying she struggled to accept the finding.
Dr. Amen linked the reduced activity to chronic stress, something Kardashian acknowledged as she continues her legal studies.
The episode followed a previous revelation aired on Nov. 20, when Kardashian told her sister Kourtney that a Prenuvo scan had identified a brain aneurysm that had been present for several years. She said she consulted neurosurgeon Dr. Keith Black, who recommended further imaging and warned that stress can contribute to aneurysm rupture.
Kardashian has spoken openly about the pressures she faces, citing both the intensity of bar preparation and ongoing strain related to her 2022 divorce from Ye (formerly Kanye West).
New episodes of The Kardashians stream Thursdays at 12 a.m. ET on Hulu.
