The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has officially announced the athletes selected for the IOC Olympic Solidarity Scholarships that will support their preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Under the programme, each athlete will receive USD 13,500 per annum from September 2025 to August 2028, enabling them to train, compete internationally, and strengthen their chances of qualifying for LA28.
A total of eight athletes, four men and four women have been awarded the scholarships.
In athletics, Olympian Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower and Paris Olympic gold medallist, has been selected for continued support as he prepares for another Olympic campaign.
The National Rifle Association of Pakistan secured the highest number of places, with five shooters chosen for the programme. The male shooters include Muhammad Farrukh Nadeem, Suliman Khan, and Imam Haroon, while Kishmala Talat and Rabia Kabir have been named among the women representatives.
From the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation, Haiqa Hassan has been selected for the scholarship, while the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation will be represented by Fateemaah Tuz Zahraa Khawar.
The POA said the selected athletes “continue to represent Pakistan with dedication, resilience and excellence” as they embark on their journey toward the LA28 Olympic Games.
