Kevin Spacey is preparing for another legal battle after three men brought new civil claims against him in London. Court records confirm that the cases relate to allegations of sexual assault said to have taken place between 2000 and 2013. A hearing at the High Court in London set a provisional trial date for October 2026, although the court has not yet confirmed whether all three claims will be heard together or one after another.
According to BBC News, Spacey has formally denied two of the civil claims. Court documents show he has not yet filed a defence for the third. Spacey and his representatives have not commented on the new civil actions. The actor has maintained his innocence through previous legal challenges and has rejected all allegations made against him.
One of the men involved in the new set of claims previously filed a civil case against Spacey in 2022. The court paused that earlier action during Spacey’s 2023 criminal trial, where he was acquitted on all counts brought by four men. The same claimant remains anonymous by order of the court and states that he experienced psychiatric harm and financial loss connected to an alleged incident in August 2008.
Another claimant, Ruari Cannon, chose to waive his right to anonymity. Cannon says Spacey groped him at a party in 2013 when Cannon was performing in a play at the Old Vic theatre, where Spacey served as artistic director at the time. Cannon later appeared in the Channel 4 series Spacey Unmasked, which examined allegations across Spacey’s career. Spacey responded to the programme and said he felt he had been cleared whenever given the opportunity to defend himself in full.
A third claimant has also filed a civil case connected to an alleged incident from the early 2000s. Details of that allegation remain sealed in court documents.
Spacey was sued in New York in 2022 by actor Anthony Rapp over a separate allegation. A jury found Spacey not liable in that case after a full civil trial.
The new London claims add another chapter to Spacey’s long running legal issues. The civil cases are set to progress throughout 2026 as the High Court prepares for a full hearing on the allegations and responses.
