Kayla Nicole no longer interested in dating athletes after split from Travis Kelce

Kayla Nicole is drawing attention online after making a pointed remark about her dating preferences during an appearance on the Boyfriend Material With Harry Jowsey podcast.

The 34-year-old influencer, whose last public relationship was with NFL star Travis Kelce, said she is no longer interested in dating athletes and would instead consider dating owners of the teams.

When Jowsey mentioned being part-owner of a Los Angeles-based professional rugby team, Nicole responded by asking, "Do you have any owner friends?" She continued, "I keep saying I don’t want to date any more athletes, but I’m down to date the owners of the teams", prompting Jowsey to joke, "Here we go. I’m here".

Fans interpreted the exchange as a subtle reference to Kelce whom Nicole dated on and off for five years before they officially ended their relationship in 2022. Critics contrasted her comment with Kelce’s current engagement to Taylor Swift. Others defended Nicole for making a joke.

This is not the first time Nicole has been accused of shading her former partner or Swift. Last month she recreated Toni Braxton’s look from the He Wasn’t Man Enough video for Halloween, complete with choreography. Fans connected the choice to lyrics referencing an ex moving on, though Nicole denied any intention of targeting another woman.
