Pokimane addresses dating rumours after TikTok appearance with Mark Tuan

Imane “Pokimane” Anys has responded to growing speculation about her relationship status after appearing in a TikTok video with American K-pop rapper Mark Tuan, prompting fans to question whether the pair were “soft launching” a romance.

Pokimane, who has generally kept her personal life out of the spotlight, featured alongside Tuan on November 19 when the two recreated the popular “Ocean Eyes” trend. In the clip, she lip-syncs to Billie Eilish’s song while posing next to Tuan before transitioning back to a solo shot.

Viewers quickly began to question the collaboration, with one comment asking, “What’s Mark Tuan doing here?” Pokimane replied that he was “being a very nice and sweet guy.”

Another viewer asked if the TikTok was a “soft launch,” sparking further speculation that the duo were hinting at a relationship. Pokimane addressed the rumour the following day in a separate TikTok response, stating that she would not publicly acknowledge a relationship unless she were married.

“Let me clear this up once and for all,” she said. “The only soft launch you will ever see from me is a ring on my finger. Okay? A man in my life is but a man in my life until he’s my husband.”

She added that her public relationship status mirrors the limited options on official forms, saying, “You know how the only statuses available are like, ‘Single, married, divorced?’ That’s how I am with the public.”

The TikTok marks the latest insight into Pokimane’s private life. Earlier in 2024, she discussed what she described as an “interesting” breakup with a long-term partner, which some fans speculated was connected to a “relationship contract” she had shown in a 2022 video.

Pokimane has, however, continued to emphasise that she intends to maintain clear boundaries between her online presence and her personal relationships.
