Chris Daughtry publicly clarified his position after AI-generated images falsely appeared to show him honoring the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the musician explained that he was among several artists — including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen — who were depicted in fabricated AI photos following Kirk’s death. Daughtry said the images misrepresented his beliefs and caused significant frustration.

“I certainly don’t stand with MAGA, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point or any movement rooted in bigotry or intolerance,” he told Rolling Stone, adding that being digitally associated with groups that conflict with his values “affects [him] on a deep level.”

He also noted that his personal views have shifted over the years. Daughtry said he no longer holds the religious views he was raised with and emphasized his support for equal rights, including LGBTQ and minority communities.

The singer additionally addressed other AI-generated misinformation circulating online, including false claims about his marriage. In a recent Instagram post, he warned fans about the growing spread of fabricated content, telling followers that any credible updates about him will come directly from his verified accounts or the official Daughtry band page.

“If you’re not seeing news on our official page or something corroborated by another source, it’s not real,” he said on Instagram.
