Authorities in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday dismissed from service three officials, issued punishments to others involved in corruption, misconduct, negligence, and substandard investigation, besides recommending the dismissal of a Sindh police officer deputed in the Agency.
An Inspector posted at the Counter Terrorism Wing (CTW) in Karachi, a Sub-Inspector at Lahore Airport, as well as a technical assistant and a constable, have been dismissed from service. The DG has also recommended to the Inspector General of Sindh Police the dismissal of an SI on deputation to the FIA for corruption.
Officials said FIA DG Riffat Mukhtar Raja convened an Orderly Room to personally hear cases against officers accused of corruption, serious dereliction of duty, and poor investigative performance.
After reviewing each case individually, he imposed major penalties on four officers found guilty of corruption, misconduct, inefficiency, and defective investigation.
