xQc has responded to comments from Pokimane about the current state of livestreaming, after she said she missed when platforms focused more on gaming and less on drama.

Her post on X stated that she “miss[es] when streaming was about gaming, not just drama baiting and clip farming,” prompting discussion among viewers and creators.

In reply, xQc challenged the idea that drama culture originated from his side of the community. He argued that the shift came from events involving Pokimane and others in 2022.

He wrote that he had been “doing GTA RP by day, slots by night” within his usual content until “everyone (her) farmed me and Trainwreck for drama and clicks.” Addressing Pokimane directly, he added, “Miss me with that energy. Walk the walk.”

The exchange revisited long-standing debates around gambling streams on Twitch. In 2022, the platform introduced rules against broadcasting content from several gambling sites, including Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits and Roobet.

The decision followed months of scrutiny of slot streams and creator partnerships, with discussions often involving xQc, Trainwreck and Pokimane.

xQc referenced this period in a follow-up post, stating that “the most prominent streaming Circle completely dissolved, relationships broken” during the fallout of the gambling era.

He suggested that the turbulence contributed to the launch of Kick, a platform that he said increased competition but “divided us even more.” He concluded his remarks by saying, “Want streaming to be more about games? Play games.”
