A new trailer for the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been released, offering an early look at the upcoming continuation of the anime based on Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s manga.

Produced by Madhouse, the series has gained significant attention since its first season, with fans noting that the latest trailer reinforces the reflective tone that has defined the adaptation.

Much of the footage focuses on Frieren travelling with Fern and Stark as they observe the world around them. Viewers have credited this emphasis on quiet moments as a core appeal of the series, which contrasts with expectations of constant battles in fantasy anime.

The trailer also includes action scenes, with Madhouse having previously received strong praise for fight sequences throughout the first season.

The series continues to hold a prominent position among anime audiences. According to fan rankings on MyAnimeList, its first season remains in the top spot, creating strong anticipation for the next instalment.

The story follows Frieren, an elf mage who once fought alongside the hero Himmel to defeat the Demon King. Returning many years later, she witnesses Himmel’s peaceful passing and begins a journey shaped by the differing lifespans between herself and her former companions.

The second season will premiere on January 16 2026 on NTV’s Friday Anime Night block, with Crunchyroll streaming the series worldwide outside Asia, including India and the Indian subcontinent.

TOHO animation’s trailer also reveals the ending theme, “The Story of Us,” performed by milet, who also provided the ending theme for the first season.

Season two will be directed by Tomoya Kitagawa, with Keiichirō Saitō credited for director support. Key returning staff include Tomohiro Suzuki for series composition and Evan Call for the soundtrack. Madhouse will continue to animate the series.
