A presale for Olivia Dean’s 2026 North American tour led to widespread confusion on Wednesday morning when Ticketmaster briefly displayed prices for the singer’s August 2026 TD Garden date at more than $700 above expectations.Fans attempting to purchase seats were confronted with unusually high amounts that quickly went viral on social media.
Screenshots of the inflated prices spread across X, prompting speculation that automated bots had bought out sections of the venue or that Ticketmaster had implemented surge pricing. One user shared a screenshot alongside criticism of the platform’s handling of presales, a sentiment echoed by others who complained about rising concert costs.
Ticketmaster later responded publicly, clarifying that the spike was caused by a “typo.” The company stated that the intended price for the affected ticket was $53.45, not the significantly higher number briefly shown during presale. In its message, the platform said the issue had been corrected and that fans who paid the inflated amount were automatically refunded the difference. The explanation drew mixed reactions online, with at least one user questioning how an entire ticketing system could allow such an error to occur.
The incident unfolded as Olivia Dean prepares for an extensive 2026 world tour across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Her North American leg includes stops in major cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Toronto, New York, Atlanta and Houston, with the Boston performance scheduled for August 10, 2026, at TD Garden.
