Achakzai assures Imran won’t act against anyone if rule of law restored

Opposition leader urges political parties sign social contract for restoration of constitutional rule

Opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai has urged all political parties to sign a new social contract for restoring the rule of the Constitution, assuring that PTI founder Imran Khan “will not take action against anyone” if constitutional order is upheld.

TTAP leaders met the sisters of the PTI founder at Bani Gala, condemning the alleged violence against women outside Adiala Jail and expressing full solidarity with the family. The meeting was followed by a joint press conference in which TTIP leaders voiced alarm over the political climate, the state of democracy and what they described as repeated violations of constitutional boundaries.

Addressing the media, Achakzai said a false impression has been created that “there is one man who is a rebel and must be broken.” He said the struggle was not of a single individual but of 250 million people. TTAP chief delivered a strong critique of the government, calling its actions “undemocratic” and “clear violations of human rights.”

“The incumbent government was formed through wealth and force,” he alleged, adding that people were humiliated in their homes and the sanctity of privacy was violated, which he termed a crime. Calling resistance against an oppressive ruler “a form of Jihad,” he said they are confident because “Allah is with the oppressed and He will hold everyone accountable.”

The opposition leader further claimed that influential individuals had secured relief in nearly 9,000 cases and were seeking further concessions. “We have raised the banner of resistance,” he said, expressing hope that constitutional rule would eventually prevail.

Achakzai urged state institutions to work within their constitutional limits and appealed to political parties to sign a contract to ensure constitutional rule. “I will get the signature of the PTI founder, and I assure you Imran Khan will not act against anyone,” he added.

He reiterated that they had no personal dispute with any ‘general, Sharif or Zardari’. “Our priority is to establish a fair social contract so Pakistan can function properly. We do not want to become rulers. Just return our Constitution to us,” he concluded.
