A video showing rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s mother being held at gunpoint during an alleged home invasion in Florida has gone viral and triggered widespread skepticism online. The footage, originally published by TMZ and shared by DJ Akademiks on X, appears to show several masked men confronting the rapper’s mother inside his home, prompting debate over whether the event was authentic.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, four armed intruders entered the property while 6ix9ine’s mother was inside. Deputies said the men pointed a gun at her, searched the home, and demanded cash and car keys before escaping in a vehicle. Law enforcement arrived shortly after but found no suspects, and the investigation is still in progress.

The break-in occurred at a time when 6ix9ine was livestreaming with internet personality Jack Doherty, leaving him away from the house during the intrusion. Addressing the situation afterward in a video reposted by DJ Akademiks, 6ix9ine said the intruders appeared to wait until he was visibly off the property. He explained that although he is on house arrest, he was permitted to leave for work that day, and viewers on the livestream likely noticed he was not home. He added that the situation would have been perceived differently if it involved another public figure, emphasizing that his 60-year-old mother was alone at the time.

As the clip circulated online, some viewers claimed they noticed unusual details that made the encounter appear staged. Users on X pointed to the family dog’s calm behavior as suspicious, with one person writing that the dog was “wagging its tail like it knows those dudes.” Others said a voice in the recording sounded like streamer Neon, and several questioned why the dog did not bark or react defensively.

However, many online defended 6ix9ine and rejected the claims that the invasion was faked. Some users argued that the dogs in the home are not guard animals, while others dismissed the idea that a streamer would participate in such a scenario. As discussion continues across social platforms, authorities have not released any information indicating the event was staged, and the investigation by the sheriff’s office remains active.
